How ‘bout them Saints? I will admit that I didn’t watch one regular or post season game. I will further admit that I sat down to watch last night with an eye on the commercials and I didn’t really have a stake in the game. However, deep down, I did want New Orleans to win. They needed it and I am juust enough of a romantic to want them to have it. So when they did that onside kick at the top of the second half, I started to feel it. The amazing thing was Richie and our houseguest from LA, David, started to feel it too. Now let me explain about the two of them. They apparently didn’t have the same “all football, all the time” mother I had, because from the start of the third quarter on, I had to give them a tutorial – sort of Football 101. I explained everything from what the numbers at the top of the screen (the down/yards to go) to the two point conversion. As the game neared the end, when it looked like the Saints might even win, and especially after the deal was sealed with the incredible interception TD run, we were cheering. It turned out to be a great game, a great fun night, and I know, my mother was down in Florida watching the game, with the comfort she raised me knowing the rules of football!
Oddly enough, we didn’t watch the Half Time Show. (Usually that’s all I can get Richie to watch.) Didn’t really get THE WHO, and thought they looked a little creaky. I would much preferred to have seen Janet and Justin rock it – wardrobe malfunctions and all.
Yesterday was busy around here. I think the first nice Sunday in many many weeks, brought out the peeps. We were here with my friend, showing off the restaurant and watched as MetroFreshuals of all ages streamed through the doors, making me look good to our visitor. So thanks for that.
Rockstar was a little under the weather this weekend and asked if I would please step in and work this morning. I made a really good beef and white bean stew as well as Moroccan Lentil soup. If you can’t make it in for lunch but still want some MetroFreshiness, give us a call and Miss Vee will be happy to bring your lunch to you. Have a great day.
