I am not popular in my house these days. Remember how I told you Schotzi has terrible ear infections in both ears? She was so sore the vet gave us an anti-inflammatory meds just to reduce the pain before we could even treat the infection. The full treatment started yesterday – the cleaning of the ears, the application of antibiotic cream, the angry stares and disappointed looks! She sees me coming and basically puts her tail between her legs and retreats into her kennel, defeated and sure that Daddy doesn’t love her. Richie “helps” by rewarding her with treats and trying to make her feel better. It was more than I could take when we opened the kennel door this morning and she wouldn’t even come out! Ah me, maybe someday she will find it in her heart to forgive me and see that I was just trying to make her well. She will, no doubt, end up in intensive therapy at some point in the future with some early childhood regression therapist who encourages her to relive all the pain “Daddy” inflicted on her when she was just two years old. It will be sad, DFACS will come and find me and throw me in prison with bank robbers and Wall Street Execs. In the mean time, I will continue to treat the condition and hope for the best. Perhaps the walks I take her on before bed will change how she sees me – perhaps not. It’s tough being a parent.
I guess I should just focus on the positive – on the food, which makes everything better. The warm sunshine brought out the crowds at MetroFresh yesterday. It was great to see diners enjoying the patio and a great lunch. It looks like it will be a repeat day since I don’t think the rain will get here until much later. I encourage you to take an hour and get out of the office, get some nutritious vitamin D from the sun and a MetroFresh lunch which as always is packed with fresh, natural goodness. You will feel so healthy it won’t even be funny. There will be no stopping the energy and creativity you take back to the office or back home. I am in the kitchen tonight doing a BBQ Brisket or BBQ Shrimp over delicious southern style grits. YUM.
If for some reason bossy bosserson is chaining you to your desk and you want some wholesome MetroFresh food for lunch, Miss Vee will be on call. Hope to see you either way.
