Hello!
I founded MetroFresh with the notion that fresh, healthy, and creative food should not be out of reach for the casual diner. With a daily menu of soups, salads, sandwiches, breakfast entrees, “after work” small plates (Uptown), and dinner entrees (Midtown,) MetroFresh uses the freshest in-season ingredients, locally grown and organic when possible, to build unexpected flavor combinations you don’t often find at a fast-casual cafe.
Our mission has always been to create a friendly “oasis” where our guests can take a break from their hectic lives. “People are going to come for delicious, healthy food,” I told my original crew in 2005, “but they’ll come back because they had a great experience.”
You’ll notice alongside the “FOOD” below, a column of “THOUGHTS.” I’ve always believed MetroFresh would succeed because it’s a personal and communal experience. That very first day when I sent out a mass email with our daily menu, I began with a personal story about how I loved fresh food as a child. I’ve started every day after that writing down these random thoughts about food, family, and life. I’ve been doing it as a daily ritual for so many years I figure, why stop now? I hope you enjoy it. And I hope you come see us.

You know that jingle for Wayfair, "Wayfair, it's just what you need!" that gets stuck in your head? I'm here to tell you it's not 100% true. Because "just what you need" when you order something from Wayfair is some XANAX!
Richie and I decided one day last week, when the weather was springtime perfect, that it would be super nice to have a second patio sofa so that both of us could recline outside and enjoy a little al fresco R&R. So I went online and quickly found a suitable (read - super inexpensive), nice looking (read - doesn't look too cheap) sofa that kind of matches the one we already have from wayfair.com. It arrived on Monday and, because of my work schedule, I didn't really have the time or energy to put it together until yesterday afternoon.
The extraordinary thing is this entire three seat sofa comes in one 40in square(ish) box (read - it's in small pieces and it's going to take a couple more hours than you budgeted to put together...) It truly is a feat of engineering, and if you can put aside the very palpable frustration you get figuring out the instructions, you might just admire that someone put a sofa in a box.
I started the project around 4pm. As I passed the 5:00 with nary a Xanax in sight to take the edge off, I decided to have a glass of wine while I hunted for screw MQ-60MLT and bolt DL-50250. The good news is I was able to finish before my second glass of wine and before the sun went down - thank goodness for Daylight Saving! The sofa all ready for some good napping in the cool spring evening, which is where you'll find me this afternoon.
Come see us today! We have a big crowd coming to MF Uptown from the new apartment building next door. DJ JusInc will be on the plaza spinning some tunes.
And supposedly there is a group of 10 coming for Backgammon at Midtown tonight. So much to do on a Thursday!
